The Many Faces of Jesus | Week 3

Why are there so many versions of Jesus, and how do you tell which one is real? Continuing The Many Faces of Jesus, Matt Stephan digs into the commandment most of us learned as "don't take the Lord's name in vain" and finds something heavier underneath. The Hebrew word means to carry, to bear, and to misuse God's name is to misrepresent his character so badly that people miss his presence. White Jesus and yoked Jesus aren't just bad art. They're what happens when power-hungry people want the power in Jesus's name. The real one, Matt argues, is gentle and humble in heart, and you can tell which Jesus you're following by whether your faith makes you gentler or makes you feel better than someone else.
